Teaching and Training

The Department of Pathology plays a major role in teaching Pathology and Pathophysiology to first- and second-year medical students.  Its faculty also play major teaching roles in graduate courses in Immunology and Virology.  Graduate students in Immunology and Virology also perform laboratory rotations and conduct their Ph.D. thesis research with faculty in the Department.  The Department of Pathology has an extremely strong residency and clinical fellowship program.  There is also outstanding post-doctoral fellowship training in the research laboratories.

In addition to the teaching at the undergraduate and post-graduate levels the department plays a very active role in teaching to other clinical departments.  Residents and faculty participate in a large number of teaching conferences.
