For thirty years, the University of Massachusetts Medical School (UMMS) has been providing academic enrichment and healthcare career exploration for under-represented and disadvantaged students from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The HSHCP encourages students to graduate from High School and prepare for College. The programs we provide assist serious students in achieving those goals.


The current Outreach Programs available for High School and College Students:

Health Careers Program  Summer Enrichment Program 



Definitions

Disadvantaged individuals include those from economically disadvantaged (i.e. meets Federal guidelines for low income, poverty, and/or free or reduced lunch) and/or educationally disadvantaged (i.e. first generation college graduate) backgrounds.

Under-represented individuals include those groups under-represented in medicine, nursing, and biomedical research according to Federal and State studies.
