The Office of Faculty Affairs (OFA) sponsors programs designed to educate faculty about UMMS, encourage networking and collaboration, and ensure that faculty receive important information and announcements.

New Faculty Orientation: a quarterly half-day event designed to provide new faculty at all levels with an overview of the institution and to assist them in beginning a successful career at UMMS.
Onboarding Mentoring Orientation: a quarterly one-hour event designed to provide Onboarding Mentors adn those interested in becoming an Onboarding Mentor with an overview of the expectations of mentoring and how to enhance your effectiveness as a mentor.
Faculty Networking Lunches: scheduled regularly throughout the year, the Lunches are opportunities for faculty to meet informally, network, and exchange ideas. Brief programs during the lunches provide updates on important initiatives, celebrate promotion and tenure decisions, and honor award recipients.
UMMS Faculty NewsWire: an email communication sent to all faculty every Monday. It includes notices of workshops, seminars, and professional development programs, announcements of awards and funding opportunities administered by the OFA, and events of interest to faculty.
UMMS Faculty PROFILES: to search for faculty and their research interests at UMMS. Multi-disciplinary, multi-institution, collaborative teams are becoming increasingly important in biomedical research. UMassMed, under the sponsorship of the UMassMed Center for Clinical & Translational Research, has implemented the PROFILES research networking software. We encourage you to browse the site.
