AAMC Seminars for Women and Minorities

The Office of Faculty Affairs funds the registration fees for two faculty to participate in professional development seminars for women and minorities organized by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC). Active links are added to each section in conjunction with Calls for Applications. If there are no current calls for applications and you have questions, please contact Faculty.Affairs@umassmed.edu.

The OFA is currently taking applications for Registration Funding to the AAMC Minority Faculty Career Development Seminar. Deadline: Friday, May 17, 2013. Download Application details.

Faculty are selected for support through an internal review process requiring a complete application that includes the following components:

Please watch for announcements from the OFA and follow the specific instructions for each seminar. Applications are reviewed by an internal committee who will select the applicants who will most benefit from attending the seminar. Typically, two applicants are funded each year for each seminar. Selected faculty are responsible for securing additional funding to cover travel and other expenses. Selected applicants are informed in sufficient time so that they can complete their application to AAMC.

Faculty who do not seek OFA financial support may apply directly to AAMC for the seminars. If you do apply please inform OFA at kathleen.rancourt@umassmed.edu, so that we can keep a list of all faculty planning to attend the seminars.
