The Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences Cares student organization is raising money to donate to non-profit organizations in Nepal to help those affected by the devastating earthquake that struck the country on April 25.

Third-year GSBS student Diwash Acharya, a Nepali citizen, said he cannot stop thinking about the “people who are fighting against the disaster.”

“The Nepali people are in urgent need of humanitarian support. We are asking for your help to raise funds to aid the victims and provide them food, water, shelter and medical supplies,” Acharya wrote on the group’s fundraising page.

GSBS students Ankit Bhatta, a Nepali citizen, Glen Gallagher, and Livio Dukaj are working with Acharya on the fundraising effort. Money raised will be donated to Nepali social organizations, including Gorkha Milan Samaj, that are working in small villages.
