Farmer’s Market welcomes new vendors to the Worcester campus this week

   farmers-market-2013

New vendors will be joining the Farmers Market on the Worcester campus beginning July 15. Austin Brother Meats will be offering locally, naturally grown beef and pork, including a variety of sausages. An annual favorite, Nicewicz Family Farm will be back with an amazing selection of orchard fruits and other produce.

A welcome summer tradition on the Worcester campus, the annual farmer’s market takes place every Tuesday through October, from 1 to 5 p.m., adjacent to the campus green.

Returning weekly merchants include:

· Austin Brothers Meat (beginning July 16)

· Be My Honey (with Town Farm Garden’s jams and pickles)

· Farmacy Gardens (vegetables and cut flowers)

· Great Harvest Bread Company

· Nicewicz Orchard (beginning July 16)

· Parker's Maple Syrup

There will also be occasional day vendors, including WooBerry Yogurt, which will be selling frozen yogurt out of their new truck.

The UMMS farmer’s market is no longer affiliated with Greater Worcester Farmer’s Market. Sadly, Andy O’Keefe, managing director of the market for more than 25 years, passed away in December after an illness, leaving very big shoes to fill. While the Greater Worcester Farmer’s Market is in transition, the UMMS market is in good hands: The owners of Farmacy Gardens, Chanya Sea-Eaw and John White, have stepped in to manage the market this season.
