Chair yoga classes open to Medical School community

Members of the medical school community now have a convenient opportunity to try out chair yoga and experience its benefits, with a class offered weekly by the Wellness Initiative of the Department of Psychiatry.

Taught by certified yoga instructors Andrea DiRigiero and Diane Pingeton, MD, chair yoga adapts traditional stretches and breathing exercises proven to promote physical and mental well-being for all ages and abilities, including individuals with physical limitations. Classes take place every Thursday from 11 a.m. to noon in the Basement Meeting Room at the Ambulatory Psychiatry Building (Farmhouse at 361 Plantation Street in Worcester).

Pre-registration is not required and the classes are free, but donations are suggested, with 100 percent of proceeds to benefit the Worcester County Food Bank.
