Kathleen Monahan has been making prints for more than 35 years. Describing printmaking as her passion, Monahan said, “My work is a statement of ideas, imagery and technique in today’s society of printmaking. Using the materials, techniques and structures of the day in a thoughtful manner is what I do.”

Her lithographs will be the subject of the next installment of the Lamar Soutter Library’s Artist in Residence Series “Pressing Matters,” on display on the first floor of the library from Thursday, Jan. 31, through Thursday, March 14. A reception will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 12, at 5 p.m.

Monahan has an MFA from Rochester Institute of Technology and has worked at UMass Medical School for 21 years. She has previously shown her work nationally and locally, including in the Worcester Library Art Show, WPI Art Show, Art on the Street and the Domestic Violence Prevention Art Show.
