UMass TV ads feature UMMS graduate

Erik Domingues, MD, SOM '10Alumnus Erik Domingues, MD, SOM ’10, is featured in the University of Massachusetts’s video series “Moments You Never Forget” that illustrates how UMass shapes and transforms the lives of its graduates. Graduates from all five UMass campuses recall the moments that loom large in their lives and careers.

Dr. Domingues, who is also a 2006 UMass Dartmouth graduate, relates how his mother inspired him to pursue a career in medicine and remembers his family's shared dream coming true. Domingues revisits the unforgettable moment when he walks across the stage at Commencement, hears his mother's cry of joy and thinks: "This is it, I'm finally a doctor."

Other UMass alumni featured are: designer Joseph Abboud, UMass Boston ’72; advertising executive Bryony Bouyer, UMass Dartmouth ’86; astronaut Cady Coleman, UMass Amherst ’91; basketball great Julius Erving, UMass Amherst ’86; and UMass Lowell Chancellor Marty Meehan, UMass Lowell ’78.

The first television ad from this series, featuring Abboud, is now on the air and other spots will be added into the campaign in the coming weeks. A seventh spot will feature Jay Ferguson, MD, SOM ’12, and Beth O’Connor Ferguson, MA, GSN ’12, recent husband-and-wife graduates of UMass Chan.
