Newsmaker: Gov. Paul Cellucci and Chancellor Collins join Dan Rea to talk about ALS

UMMS Chancellor Michael F. Collins and former Gov. Paul Cellucci talked with WBZ’s Dan Rea about Cellucci’s battle with ALS and fundraising efforts for the UMass ALS Champion Fund.

In the interview, Cellucci refers to Robert H. Brown Jr., DPhil, MD, the Leo P. and Theresa M. LaChance Chair in Medical Research and chair and professor of neurology, as one of the preeminent ALS researchers.

“I have a great doctor, one of the preeminent researchers in the world, Robert Brown,” said Gov. Cellucci. “And he’s 20 minutes away at our great medical school, the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, which has become a powerhouse research institute in this country.”
