Last night, Johnson & Johnson honored Victor R. Ambros, PhD, the Silverman Chair in Natural Sciences and professor of molecular medicine, as co-winner of the 2012 Dr. Paul Janssen Award for Biomedical Research in a ceremony and scientific symposium at the New York Academy of Sciences in New York City. Dr. Ambros received the award with long-time collaborator Gary Ruvkun, PhD, of Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, for their collaborative discovery of microRNAs (miRNAs) as central regulators of gene expression and development.
