The newest installment of Artist in Residence Series, sponsored by Lamar Soutter Library, features the work of Alberto Mercado. Called Impressions of New England, the exhibit comprises photographs taken throughout the region and beyond. Mercado has been an employee of UMass Memorial since 1998.

“The work I do with photography reflects the love I have for nature and the outdoors,” said Mercado, a native of Puerto Rico who came to the United States in 1985. “Living here in New England has given me the chance to take advantage of the four seasons so that I can be able to capture its beauty and display it for others around the country to appreciate what they are missing.”

The exhibit begins on Monday, Feb. 13, and runs through Monday, March 26. There will be an artist’s reception on Thursday, Feb. 16, at 5 p.m.
