Felix G. Cataldo lecture will honor Michael Hirsh

Glenn W. Geelhoed, MD, professor of surgery, international medical education, microbiology, immunology & tropical medicine at George Washington University Medical Center, will present the 2011 Felix G. Cataldo, MD, Distinguished Lecture on Wednesday, Sept. 21, at 5 p.m. in Amphitheatre II. Dr. Geelhoed will present “Gifts from the Poor: What the World’s Patients Taught One Doctor About Healing.” 

The lecture will be followed by an award presentation and reception at 6 p.m. in the Blais Pavilion of the LRB. Michael P. Hirsh, MD, professor of surgery and pediatrics, will be honored with the 2011 Felix G. Cataldo, MD, Humanism in Medicine Award by the Department of Surgery for his work with the Goods for Guns buyback, a program that he brought to Worcester in 2002.
