Donate new and used books for Worcester kids

Donate a book

New and gently used books will be collected from March 2 to May 15 as part of the Worcester "Give a Book" drive for inner city children. The books will be distributed in June to children in pre-kindergarten through grade 8 for summer reading.

“We are happy to support an initiative that is working to spread literacy across the city, by putting books in the hands of children who ordinarily might not have access to reading material,” said Kola Akindele, community relations associate. “As an institution of higher education, we understand more than most the detrimental effects of illiteracy on society. We are happy to do our small part in ensuring the success of our children and our community.”

Collection bins are located in the Lamar Soutter Library in the Medical School building in Worcester and in the lobby of the South Street campus in Shrewsbury.
