An early look at the Sherman Center lab spaces
November 22, 2011
In early November, faculty, researchers and laboratory technicians from across the campus got a preview of what the new wet-lab areas of the Albert Sherman Center will look and feel like.
The sneak peak came through guided tours of a full-scale mock-up of a laboratory module, with two bays designed to accommodate eight people, built on the fourth floor of the new building. The mock-up was finished with the actual fixtures, benches, case work and other materials chosen by the architectural team and the research advisory committee from UMMS.
In this video, Shawn McGuinness, senior architect and project manager, and Karen Logan, manager of researcher operations, narrate one of the tours and highlight various aspects of the new lab design.
