Events emphasizing the value of community service and volunteerism have resonated throughout the UMass Medical School community this month and today was no exception. Despite having to contend with the effects of yet another snowstorm, faculty, students and staff turned out for the second UMass Medicine Cares Volunteer Fair held in the old Medical School lobby on the Worcester campus. Sponsored by the Office of Community and Government Relations in collaboration with the United Way of Central Massachusetts, the fair is part of the multi-faceted UMass Medicine Cares initiative that encourages and supports the volunteer efforts of members of the UMMS community.
