The Lamar Soutter Library will host a viewing of Gen Silent, a documentary from award-winning director and filmmaker Stu Maddux. The film puts a face on gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender seniors who are so afraid of discrimination or abuse when they need long-term health care that many of them go back into the closet. The surprising decisions of three couples are captured through intimate access to their day-to-day lives over the course of a year in Boston.
The film will be shown on Thursday, March 14, at noon in the Hiatt Auditorium, S1-608. Following the film, a discussion will be moderated by Joyce Rosenfeld, MD, assistant professor of emergency medicine and assistant dean of student affairs/diversity, and John Trobaugh, MFA, online education coordinator.
Attendees are invited to bring their own lunch. The program is sponsored by The Mature Workforce, the LGBTA Committees on Equal Opportunity & Diversity and the Lamar Soutter Library.
