The Meyers Primary Care Institute was established in 1996 as a joint venture of Fallon Clinic (now Reliant Medical Group), Fallon Community Health Plan, and the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Our mission is to promote primary care practice through innovative research and educational initiatives. Our faculty includes a PECASE recipient, a co-director of the CRN Cancer Communication Research Center, as well as many talented medical professionals. Our current research agenda includes studies to: Improve medication safety for children and older adults Improve transitions of care Improve quality of care in the nursing home Understand the cost related underuse of medication
The Meyers Primary Care Institute honors the memory of Dr. John Meyers who served as President of Fallon Clinic from 1966-1982 and President of Fallon Community Health Plan from 1976-1985. He was also an esteemed member of the faculty of the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Dr. Meyers was highly regarded as a physician leader, a caring clinician, a respected scholar, and an accomplished artist.
