Elizabeth Eagleson, MD - Brightwood House Mentor

eaglesonDr. Eagleson spent her childhood in New York and Connecticut. She received her undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. After a few years in the work force as a laboratory technician and science educator she returned to Wake Forest School of Medicine with a National Health Service Corps Scholarship. She completed her residency in internal medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston where she was the recipient of the Medical Humanities award in her senior year.

Dr. Eagleson is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine. Prior to arriving at Baystate in 2014, she worked at the Holyoke Health Center in Holyoke, Massachusetts and the Finger Lakes Community Health Center in Geneva, New York. Dr. Eagleson currently practices internal medicine at the Baystate Brightwood Health Center/Centro de Salud in the North End of Springfield. Her clinical interests include health literacy, team-based care and chronic disease management. She initiated and oversees an insulin pump program at Brightwood. Dr. Eagleson is a preceptor of internal medicine residents in the Community Medicine Track at Baystate. She was awarded the Brightwood Teacher of the Year award in 2016.

Dr. Eagleson lives in Amherst, Massachusetts with her husband, two children, and dog. She enjoys hiking, baking bread, and reading fiction.
