SLP - Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)

Beginning in Fall, 2013, all incoming students can purchase new laptops or continue to use what you have already purchased not more than three years ago.  Purchasing a latop is a large expense, so we recommend that if you already have a fairly modern laptop, bring it to campus and try it. You can purchase a new device later if you need to upgrade.

The minimum system requirements will ensure that your laptop serves as a portal to Computer-Based Testing and all digital resources including online courses, streaming lectures and podcasts, Virtual Microscopy slides and digital lecture notes.

Software plug-ins and bookmarks to frequently used websites are also available here.

Purchasing from UMass with Student Discount

The University of Massachusetts President’s Office created the U$ave Program which takes advantage of the volume purchasing power of all five University campuses and returns substantial discounts to the purchaser.
