The Pediatric Advanced Life Support Course is designed for pediatricians, emergency physicians, family physicians, mid-levels, nurses, paramedics, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare providers who initiate and direct advanced life support in pediatric emergencies. The University of Massachusetts Medical School is authorized as a Training Center for the Pediatric Advanced Life Support Course by the American Heart Association.

PALS Provider: This offering meets the requirements for 17.4 contact hours for nurses as specified by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in nursing (244-CMR 5.04).
PALS Retraining: This offering meets the requirements for 9.6 contact hours for nurses as specified by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in nursing (244-CMR 5.04).
Nurses should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
PALS Provider: Other professionals will be eligible for 14.5 continuing education hours from the University of Massachusetts Medical School.
PALS Retraining: Other professionals will be eligible for 8 continuing education hours from the University of Massachusetts Medical School.

The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in BLS, ACLS, and PALS and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the American Heart Association, and any fees charged for such a course do not represent income to the Association.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support classes are refundable, less a $100.00 processing fee if you cancel in less than 2 weeks of the course date or if course materials have already been mailed out to the registrant. You may transfer to another class, if arrangements are made 10 days prior to the original class date. Classes must be paid in full in order to receive a certification card and continuing education credit(s). A certification card will be awarded on the day of the course to those who successfully complete the course and have paid for the course in full.
