The University of Massachusetts Medical School recognizes the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Council 93, Massachusetts Correctional Nurses Local 1711, as the sole and exclusive bargaining representative for the regular full-time and regular part-time benefitted Registered Nurses (hereinafter, “RNs” or “Employee”) and Licensed Practical Nurses (hereinafter, “LPNs” or “Employee”) who shall be defined as employees regularly working twenty (20) or more benefitted hours a week and employed by UMASS Correctional Health Program at the Department of Correction facilities at the following locations:

• MCI Cedar Junction
• North Central Correctional Institution (Gardner)
• Massachusetts Alcohol & Substance Abuse Center Massachusetts Treatment Center, MCI Concord
• Northeastern Correctional Center, MCI Plymouth
• MCI Norfolk
• Bay State Correctional Center
• Boston Pre-Release Center
• Old Colony Correctional Center
• MCI Shirley
• Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center
• MCI Framingham
• South Middlesex Correctional Center
• Pondville Correctional Center, and excluding all other locations

Additionally, the parties agree that all “Per Diem” RNs and LPNs (per diem shall be defined as temporary, casual or any other classification of non-benefitted employee generally working less than, but not exclusively 20 unbenefitted hours of work a week) working now or in the future at the above listed locations shall be excluded from the above described and agreed upon unit; all managerial employees, nurse supervisors, other supervisory employees, confidential employees and temporary/casual employees including but not limited to nurse practitioner, dentist, lecturer, director of nursing, physician assistant, administrative assistant, medical records clerk, HIV counselor, dental assistant, phlebotomist, nursing assistant, ID Case Manager, director of infectious disease programs, administrative coordinator, physical therapist, regional director, dietician, educational specialist, education coordinator, discharge and aftercare coordinator, physical therapist assistant, medical records supervisor, health services administrator, director of optometry, director of SRD clinical, chief dietitian, dental hygienist.
