Dr. Goodman served as the second dean of the Graduate School of Nursing from 1991 to 2000. A well-known psychiatric mental health nurse, Dr. Goodman has served as a distinguished leader in undergraduate and graduate nursing education throughout Massachusetts. Dean Goodman co-founded and established the first state-funded PhD in Nursing Collaborative Program in 1994. This joint program, offered through a collaborative arrangement between the UMass Amhert and UMass Worcester, prepares nurse researchers and skilled teachers who can assume research, leadership and faculty roles in schools of nursing, research centers and health delivery organizations.
