Dr. Bateman is the winner of the 2006 Education in Psychiatric Nursing from the American Psychiatric Nurses Association.

Dr. Bateman is Coordinator of the Graduate Entry Pathway, Psych Mental Health Nursing track and holds a joint appointment with the Department of Psychiatry. She has thirty years clinical practice experience in mental health services with individuals and families in crisis. She is Sigma Theta Tau, Iota Phi Chapter at Large, Faculty Counselor and President Elect. She currently practices psychopharmacology and psychotherapy in private practice. Dr. Bateman is the MA Department of Public Health, Nursing 2020, Project Coordinator and an American Association of Colleges of Nursing – Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Accreditation Site Reviewer. Her research focuses on access to health care utilizing Critical Social Thinking to investigate the individual lived experience of disenfranchised groups.
