Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)

NursingCAS Applications opens September 1st

There are three track options to the Doctor of Nursing Practice Pathway:
GEP to DNP, BSN to DNP and the Post Master's.  Applicants must submit a completed application to Nursing CAS by the deadline date to be considered for admission.  Application status emails will be sent to the email provided on the application via Nursing CAS.

Admissions Criteria for GEP to DNP: Please refer to GEP Pathway Page.

Admission Criteria BSN to DNP Track

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Evidence of unrestricted Massachusetts licensure as a registered nurse
  • Undergraduate GPA 3.0 or higher
  • CPR Certification for Health Providers (BLS) by the American Heart
       Association
  • Acceptable Graduate Record Exam (GRE)
  • Completed Application by deadline date

Admission criteria for Pre-Graduate Option (PGO) to DNP:

  • Associate's degree or diploma in nursing and a bachelor's degree or    higher in another non- nursing discipline
  • Evidence of unrestricted Massachusetts licensure as a registered nurse
  • Undergraduate GPA 3.0 or higher
  • CPR Certification for Health Providers (BLS) by the American Heart 
        Association
  • Acceptable Graduate Record Exam (GRE)
  • Completed Application by deadline date

Admission Criteria Post Master's DNP Track

  • a Master’s degree in nursing and certified as NPs, CNSs, CRNAs, or CNMs or hold a Master’s degree in nursing or a health related field for nurse administrators.
  • Master's Degree in non -nursing field is acceptable for Applying Nurse Administrators (must have bachelor's of science in nursing degree) 
  • Evidence of unrestricted Massachusetts licensure as a registered nurse
  • Undergraduate GPA 3.0 or higher
  • CPR Certification for Health Providers (BLS) by the American Heart Association
  • Completed Application by deadline date

Requirements for Admission BSN to DNP and PGO to DNP Track

  • Completed Application submitted to Nursing CAS refer to Nursing CAS instructions for admission requirements.
  • Complete Graduate School of Nursing checklist, submit directly to the Graduate School of Nursing.  (PRINT CHECKLIST)
  • A notarized proof of residency (all applicants, both Massachusetts Residents and non-residents, must submit) (PRINT FORM)

Requirements for Admission Post Masters DNP Track

  • Completed Application submitted to Nursing CAS refer to Nursing CAS instructions for admission requirements.
  • Complete Graduate School of Nursing checklist, submit directly to the Graduate School of Nursing. (PRINT CHECKLIST)
  • A notarized proof of residency (all applicants, both Massachusetts Residents and non-residents, must submit) (PRINT FORM)
