The Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Medical School comprises several distinct programs:

Basic & Biomedical Sciences PhD
Clinical & Population Health Research PhD
Millennium PhD
MS in Clinical Investigation
Pathway to Graduate Study Program

The programs within the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences train students in their selected specialty area and emphasize a broad background in the basic medical sciences, in preparation for research with direct relevance to human disease.

Graduates are equipped to collaborate with scientists and physicians involved in basic research and clinical investigations and are prepared to initiate careers as researchers in schools of the health professions, government or in the biotechnology industry.

With the exception of the Pathway to Graduate Study Program, all admissions take place through an admission process in which successful applicants are admitted to the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, rather than a specific program. For specific program admission requirements, please visit the corresponding program site of your interest.

The Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences recognizes the power of a diverse student body and encourages applications from individuals with varied experiences, perspectives and backgrounds.

The University provides equal opportunity and access to all applicants and students. The University adheres strictly to all applicable state and federal regulations relating to nondiscrimination and equal opportunity.
