Graduate Medical Education

Faculty members of the Division of Geriatric Medicine are involved in the training of residents in internal medicine, family medicine, ob/gyn, and psychiatry through their clinical practice and standardized patient exercises.

Members of the division participate in the Ambulatory Care Block for the internal medicine residents, which includes didactic presentations, an evidence based medicine session, independent home visits, and clinical experiences with a geriatrician.

In collaboration with the UMMS Donald W. Reynolds Foundation Advancing Geriatrics Education Initiative, division faculty lead the development and implementation of the Chief Resident Immersion Training (CRIT) program. CRIT is an educational retreat for rising chief residents from multiple specialties to enhance teaching skills and care for the older adult population.

The Division of Geriatric Medicine also offers a geriatric medicine fellowship
