Supervision of all forensic evaluations, adult and juvenile, is provided by a forensic psychologist, who has been certified by the Department of Mental Health. For the juvenile track, supervision of psychological assessments (not court ordered) is provided by a licensed psychologist, and treatment activities are supervised by either a licensed psychologist or a licensed independent clinical social worker (LICSW). Supervisors at all sites prepare written evaluations of fellows each quarter. These are sent to Dr. Packer, the Program director. The director reviews these evaluations with the fellow and sets goals and expectations for satisfactory completion of the rotations. Fellows also are asked to provide mid-year and final evaluations of their supervision (and of all other aspects of the training program). In addition, fellows will have weekly individual supervision sessions with Dr. Packer to integrate their clinical and didactic experiences as well as regular sessions with Dr. Grisso focusing on research topics. Both Drs. Packer (adult inpatient evaluations) and Dr. Grisso (juvenile inpatient evaluations) also serve as direct supervisors for some cases.
