Meet Our 2014-15 Resident Scholars!

Introducing the members of the Global Health Track! Our Global Health Track scholars hail from each of our Family Medicine residencies in Worcester and Fitchburg and bring a great breadth of experience to UMass.

Melissa Gleckel, MD
Worcester
Family Health Center of Worcester
Melissa is a 2014 graduate of the Ben Gurion University of the Negev and earned her BA in International Studies from Johns Hopkins University in 1998. A professional dancer, Melissa is fluent in Spanish. Her academic interests include integrative medicine and global health.

 
       
      Ivonne McLean, MD
Worcester
Barre Family Health Center
Ivonne graduated in 2014 from St. Georges University. She earned her BA in Anthropology from Rice University in 2000. Ivonne worked as a university health center educator prior to medical school. A native of Colombia, Ivonne is also interested in academic and clinical research. She enjoys SCUBA diving and dancing. 
       
   

Jordan Nagle, MD
Fitchburg
Jordan graduated in 2014 from American University of the Caribbean and originally hails from Windsor, ON, Canada. Jordan attended the University of Guelph in Canada and is well rounded with interests in sports, art, music, cultural activities. He has worked as a camp counselor, in restaurants and in construction! Jordan is looking forward to a career in Family Medicine that will “give him the satisfaction of creating a lifelong relationship with his patients that will contribute to both their lives, and his own, in a positive way." 

       
      Daniel Wemple, MD
Worcester
Hahenemann Family Health Center
Daniel graduated in 2014 from UMass Medical School and earned his BA in Psychology from University of Notre Dame in 2010. Dan is a California native who moved to Massachusetts in his teens. At UMMS he has been President of the school’s Greatest Gift chapter. Dan's interests include global health. He also enjoys basketball and golf.

Fitchburg
Cassandra graduated in 2013 from the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey. She was born in Livingston, NJ and has a B.A in Biology from Rutgers University and a degree in Biomedical Sciences from UMDNJ. Cassandra has done a great deal of volunteer work with the underserved in the United States and Haiti. She speaks English, French and French Creole. Her long term goal is to become involved in international health.

Carrington Koebele, MD
Worcester
Family Health Center of Worcester
Carrington is a 2013 graduate of Saint George’s University. She earned her BA in International Development Studies from McGill University in 2005 and subsequently received her MPH from St. George’s in 2008. Carrington is a German native who has traveled extensively and was attracted to our program in part because of the Global Health Track.

Allison Ledoux, MD

Family Health Center of Worcester
Allison graduated in 2013 from Tufts University School of Medicine and is a 2009 magna cum laude graduate of the College of the Holy Cross where she majored in biology and studio art. At Tufts, Allison was active in facilitating Problem Based Learning classes for first year medical students and she belonged to her FMIG chapter. She is a Massachusetts native and her interests include maternal child health, working with under-served populations, and medical education.

Kimberly Sikule, MD
Worcester
Barre Family Health Center
Kimberly graduated in 2013 from Ross University. She earnerd her undergraduate degree from St. Lawrence University in 2008 with a degree in Biology. A native of Westerlo, NY (outside Albany) Kimberly is a former All-American scholar athlete who helped lead her golf and basketball teams to NCAA tournaments. At Ross she was a member of the Student Council and focused on recycling initiatives in Dominica. Kimberly is interested in preventive medicine and enjoys traveling and hiking.

Noah Rosenberg, MD

Barre Family Health Center
Noah is a 2012 graduate of UMass Medical School. Also a 2008 graduate of Pomona College, Noah majored in Molecular Biology. In additon to his interests in the underserved and in women's health, Noah writes of his desire to pursue a business degree following residency. His outside interests include running and creative writing.
