Family Medicine Rotation

Family Medicine GroupCollaboration between family practitioners and dentists is integral to providing comprehensive and quality patient care.  Dental residents will receive instruction in physical diagnosis and participate in formal courses on physical evaluation and medical risk assessment.  Specifically, residents will participate in taking, recording, and interpreting a complete medical history, conducting and interpreting the physical examination, use of laboratory tests and other tools as diagnostic methods, and learning specialized skills necessary to identify important and often complex interrelationships between oral and medical systemic disease.
