Urban Academic Group Practice Opportunity
We are recruiting for a family physician to join our faculty practice at the Hahnemann Family Health Center, an urban academic group practice located at the Hahnemann Hospital Campus of UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, MA. The health center serves as a primary training site for family medicine residents in the UMass Worcester Family Medicine Residency Program, and includes opportunities to teach medical students in all four years of the medical school curriculum.
The health center serves a diverse patient population with respect to ethnicity, age and socioeconomic status. Physicians provide full service reproductive options, family centered maternity care, and care for infants, children, adults, and elders across a number of community care settings. They also provide outreach care for an underserved population at Plumley Village Health Center, a small urban underserved practice developed in a local housing project, to long term care patients in a local facility, and to college students at three major colleges with teaching and academic opportunities for students in each of those settings. Care of adult medical patients and pediatric patients is office-based. Hospitalized patients are cared for by hospitalists. Good follow-up is ensured through an active care transition program.
