E*Value is a web-based evaluation system designed to manage, collate, and analyze our curriculum, student evaluations of our curriculum and its teachers and faculty evaluations of our students.

E*Value is a web-based application which allows users to submit evaluations from an active internet connection.

E*Value modules allow for some level of customization by school, program and participant and provide real-time reporting tools to active users.

Information Services also provides E*Value training workshops including how to access real time reports.

If you have forgotten your login or password go to the login screen (https://www.e-value.net). You can obtain your login name and password from the E*Value web-site by clicking on the "Forget Password?" link in the top right portion of the screen and follow the instructions using the email address to which this notice was sent.

Information Services has created tutorials for users and provides training on a regular basis.

If you are the (co)-leader or administrator for a course, you can access “real time” evaluation reports for all evaluations generated for each of your course(s). Institutional Research, Evaluation, & Assessment (IREA) will continue to provide reports to the course coordinators once the full dataset has been collected.

The School Administrators works closely with Institutional Research Evaluation and Assessment (IREA) to create evaluations that include both standard questions required for accreditation and that are tracked across courses and years, as well as personalize questions for each individual course or clerkship. These questions are reviewed and refined periodically to ensure relevance and clarity.

The frequency with which you may choose to run reports will vary based on the length and structure of your course. It will be important for course leaders and administrators to develop a process for running such reports in order to take advantage of the ‘real time’ reporting function of E*Value. IREA will continue to produce annual reports once all student data for a given course is available.

Your evaluation will likely contain multiple sections:

1. general course tables/comments,
2. faculty tables/comments
3. course specific tables/comments
4. site tables/comments (if applicable)

Your Course Coordinator or Mary Ellen Lane, PhD, Assistant Dean for GSBS Curriculum and Academic Affairs

The GSBS has set up the system to ask for evaluations of student research and GSBS courses. Your involvement in course evaluations will be limited to reviewing evaluations of your own teaching and evaluating the research performance of your student mentees. E*Value will first asks students to identify their research mentors, then uses this information to request that you complete research performance evaluation of your mentees. The system will email you when evaluations are due and will continue to do so until the evaluations are completed.

Click “suspend” and indicate that you did not mentor the student in the comment box and click submit. A GSBS staff member will remove the evaluation from your queue.

If you are mentoring a student in research you will receive an evaluation at the end of each research session. However, you will not receive the evaluation until the student identifies you as their mentor in the E*Value system. You should remind that student to complete their task.

As you know, we track our student’s research performance in order to provide timely advice and comments on their research efforts. Without your assessment of their accomplishments, they do not know whether they are doing well or the areas in which they need to improve. Your assessment of their work is, therefore, vitally important.

If you do not assess your student’s progress in research training in a timely manner, there are several administrative consequences: 1) Your student will not receive a grade and will be unable to register for the next semester; 2) The Education Effort Assessment team will assume the teaching never took place thereby reducing the teaching hours assigned to you and to your department resulting in a smaller education budget for your department next year. 3) The absence of a written evaluation regarding student research performance would delay any disciplinary actions based on unsatisfactory performance.

Students receive information regarding providing appropriate and effective feedback from GSN educational administration and as part of their regular coursework.
