Mindfulness Learning Opportunities

The opportunities on this page can assist you in deepening your understanding of Mindfulness and developing a beneficial practice.   Sessions are offered in person, online, or self-directed formats.  Opportunities are free are offered at reduced cost to UMMHC and UMMS employees. 

Face to Face


Mindfulness@Work™ is a complimentary six session course designed to teach you a wide range of mindfulness skills aimed at enhancing attention, concentration, productivity, communication, mastery and self-care. Through experiential exercises, didactic presentations, and interactive group formats, participants will systematically explore the application and integration of mindfulness practice at work and in everyday life.
Made clear and pragmatic through direct experience, Mindfulness@Work™ optimizes your own inner resources for learning, growing, healing and for integrating mindfulness into the workplace.  This program is offered at no charge to UMMS and UMMHC employees.

8- Week Stress Reduction Program by the Internationally Acclaimed Center for Mindfulness

Mindfulness in Medicine

Mindful Physician Leadership Program (MPLP)

Physicians with mindfulness experience & interest in joining a community of physician leaders in learning mindful approaches to leadership, clinical practice, and life.The UMass Department of Psychiatry is excited to announce the new 10-month advanced level of the Physicians Foundation-Funded Mindful Physician Leadership Program (MPLP), which is being offered at no tuition. 

  • This program was successfully piloted last year and thanks to renewed funding support, it will be 
    offered again with an advanced level for physicians with prior mindfulness experience.
  • In partnership with Renowned Executive Coaching Expert, Scott Eblin, the curriculum will be 
    based on his two books “Overworked and Overwhelmed:   A Mindfulness Alternative”, and “The Next 
    Level: What Insiders Know About Executive Success.”
  • The advanced track will focus on Mindful Leadership and Executive Coaching, helping to support
    physician leaders in creating a more mindful healthcare and adopting effective approaches to 
    personal, team, and organizational presence. 

The program will begin with a 2-Day Retreat Launch on Thursday, April 7th and Friday, April 8th, 2016 
and will be proceeded by 10 monthly evening meetings. 

SLOTS ARE LIMITED for the new program, and are offered on a first-come-first-serve basis.
