Hector Reyes House

Hector Reyes House

What is the Program?

The Hector Reyes House is a new model of residential substance abuse treatment. The program provides services for 25 Latino men, and it offers in-house medical treatment, along with intensive cognitive behavioral therapy. They address nationally recognized health care disparities, alleviating a shortage of treatment options for Latinos. The program offers training and employment options designed to promote recovery, and reduce the odds of relapse. This is the only Latino treatment facility in the Central Massachusetts area.

The Latin American Health Alliance (LAHA) is a big supporter of the Hector Reyes House. The LAHA implements initiatives and programs that address identified service gaps for the Latino Community.

UMass Chan Medical School and Residents of the Hector Reyes House

The LAHA and the Residents of the Hector Reyes House participated in the 14th annual UMass Medicine Cancer Walk to fund raise and support the ongoing research and clinical trials program at the UMass Medicine Cancer Center of Excellence. The walk brings communities together to honor friends and relatives who have battled cancer so bravely.

The monies donated with the support of programs such as the LAHA and the Hector Reyes House will be used to increase the scope and progress of this ground-breaking clinical trials program. Our philanthropic support to the Cancer Center will provide patients more effective treatments with fewer side effects.
