Research in Diabetes
Goal The ultimate goal of our research program is to prevent diabetes in at risk individuals, or to cure patients already diagnosed with the disease. The Diabetes Division has a rich and ongoing history of combining basic and clinical research efforts to create a multifaceted approach aimed at
ridding the world of diabetes.
Strategy The University of Massachusetts Medical School has assembled a talented and dedicated group of basic and clinical researches to study diabetes and to advance our understanding of the biological mechanisms underlying the disease process. Our strategy is to maintain a dynamic and
interactive research program that includes perspectives from both the laboratory bench top and the patient’s bedside.
