UMass Medical School (UMMS) has once again been selected to participate in the Boston Marathon. John Hancock, principal sponsor of the event, accepted the UMass ALS Champion Fund into its non-profit marathon program for the third year allowing UMMS to give six official race numbers to marathoners who commit to raising at least $7,500 each for the fund.
Because of thier dedication and commitment, our teams have raised more than $140,000 for the groundbreaking ALS research being conducted at UMMS. We are thrilled to have another opportunity to raise awareness—and vital funding—through this nationally recognized event.
Highly motivated runners/fundraisers interested in participating in the 2014 Boston Marathon on behalf of the Champion Fund are encouraged to apply. Applications must be postmarked by November 25, 2013 to be considered for the 2014 team.
