Dr. Elizabeth Dugan  

Elizabeth Dugan, PhD 

Professor Elizabeth Dugan focuses on issues related to health and aging (e.g., medically impaired older drivers, older patient-health care provider trust and communication). She is a Fellow of the Gerontological Society of America (Behavioral and Social Science Section).

Dr. Dugan is a graduate of the University of North Carolina Greensboro (PhD Human Development & Family Studies), the University of South Florida (MA Gerontology), and the University of Central Florida (BA Liberal Arts). Prior to joining UMass Boston professor Dugan taught at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine (Public Health Sciences), the University of Massachusetts Medical School (Geriatric Medicine), and was a Senior Research Scientist at the New England Research Institutes.  Dr. Dugan continues to teach Scientific Writing for the CPHR doctoral program.

Heena Santry, MD

Research Interests: Dr. Santry is an acute care surgeon and health services researcher in the departments of Surgery and Quantitative Health Sciences. Her research focuses on improving quality and costs of delivering care for trauma and emergency general surgery (e.g. appendicitis, cholecystitis, perforated viscus, necrotizing soft tissue infection). She is especially interested in unexpected surgical care at the end-of-life. She is currently a University of Massachusetts Clinical Research Scholar (K12) and utilizes multi-modal health services research ranging from surgical epidemiology, qualitative research, and survey research. Dr. Santry also serves as Director of Trauma Outcomes Research and Quality Assessment and Program Director of the Surgical Research Scholars Department.
