Worcester is New England’s second largest city, with many activities locally to make life in Worcester interesting and an ideal area to raise and family. Its central location within New England makes it ideal for visits to nearby attractions, including a 90-minute drive southeast to Cape Cod, a 75-minute drive south to Newport Rhode Island, and a 45-minute drive east to Boston. The majestic mountains and lakes of Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont are perfect those for weekend get a ways.

Worcester is home of the Worcester Tornadoes for the baseball enthusiast, Worcester Sharks for the hockey fans, and Worcester boosts many college athletic teams with Holy Cross being a favorite for many.

For entertainment, Worcester boasts the historic Mechanics Hall, site of classical music and opera performances and the DCU Center, hosting many top rock bands, sports and family events. Nearby Wachusett Mountain State Reservation offer hiking, biking, skiing and snowboarding. Worcester’s Art museums’ collections span over 50 centuries; whiles the Higgins Armory is the only museum in the Western Hemisphere to display such a variety of arms and armory. The Ecotarium is a regional resource for learning about the natural world around us.

There are many diverse restaurants in the area to satisfy everyone. The Shrewsbury Street area and The Canal District are two locations noted for their assortment of fine dining. There are many eclectic cafes and nightclubs featuring live music to suit everyone’s interests.
