Postdoctoral position is open immediately at the University of Massachusetts Medical School to study the mechanisms of neuroinflammation and its relation to liver disease and gut permeability induced by alcohol use.

The role of molecular pathways in micro-RNA regulation and their effects on innate immune signaling mechanisms will be evaluated using in vitro and in vivo approaches. Proficiency in basic molecular techniques including transfection and immunoprecipitation are highly desired. Experience in isolation of primary microglia and astrocytes and/or techniques in intestinal biology and mouse models are highly desirable.

The postdoctoral fellow will join a dynamic laboratory with several postdoctoral researchers and graduate students and will directly report to the principal investigator. The position is supported for two years with a possibility of renewal.
