Are you the parent of a child with a mood disorder?

Are you the parent of a child with a mood disorder with or without a history of trauma? Would you like to be involved in a research study to better understand how the brain of a child with these diagnoses differs from those without the diagnoses? The Child and Adolescent NeuroDevelopment Initiative (CANDI) Program in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Massachusetts Medical School is conducting a magnetic resonance imaging study looking at the brains of children 8 to 12 years old with a mood disorder - with or without a history of trauma. We will be comparing these images with children without these diagnoses. Subjects will: receive an MRI scan & have an interview with a clinician. Parents will also have an interview with a clinician. Compensation for time and travel will be provided. If you are interested in learning more about this research study, please call Martha Castro at 508-856-5896 or ChildResearch@umassmed.edu.
