Infants and Children

The most vulnerable citizens are often children, especially those with complex health care needs. We at Commonwealth Medicine, the health care consulting division of UMass Medical School, work tirelessly to ensure that they receive the best care possible by working closely with their health care providers and Medicaid representatives to coordinate care. We are also dedicated to identifying genetic problems early so babies can receive prompt, appropriate care.

Case Management
With the help of our case managers, coordinating the care of children with medically-complex needs becomes centralized, and consequently easier for families and the professionals involved.

Newborn Screening
As a national leader in newborn screening services, we continue to research and implement new screens, while testing more than 160,000 specimens each year.
