Center for Clinical Communication and Performance Outcomes
There is strong evidence in medical literature that effective communication between clinicians and patients and among clinicians and staff leads to increased patient satisfaction and better medical outcomes, plus the risks of medical error and malpractice are significantly decreased. Part of the Commonwealth Medicine family of centers at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, the Center for Clinical Communication and Performance Outcomes (CCCPO) and its highly trained and experienced staff is uniquely positioned to help organizations achieve effective communication and improve the quality of health care they deliver.
The Center provides training and consultation services to organizations and their employees, including health care providers and professional staff. These services are designed to improve communication and enhance clinical performance within complex and culturally diverse populations. The Center’s evidence-based approach combines needs assessment, tailored interventions and outcome assessment to improve performance at the individual, departmental and organizational levels.
