Charles J. Pagnam joined UMass Medical School (UMMS) in 2007 as Vice Chancellor for Development, leading the joint development function of UMMS and its clinical partner, UMass Memorial Health Care. He also serves as the chief executive of the UMass Memorial Foundation - which raises philanthropic support for programs and initiatives at these two institutions — leading efforts to further cultivate relationships with individuals and foundations in Massachusetts and across the country.
In 2012, Mr. Pagnam took on the additional roles of Vice President for Advancement at the University of Massachusetts system and Executive Vice President at the UMass Foundation, which serves to foster and promote the growth and general welfare of the University of Massachusetts. In these capacities, he is responsible for overseeing the advancement efforts of each of the five UMass campuses. A graduate of Nichols College in Dudley, Mass., Mr. Pagnam joined UMMS from Mount Sinai Medical Center where he served as Senior Vice President for Development. He joined Mount Sinai in 2005 from Yale University, where he spent 27 years in a series of increasingly responsible positions, the last seven as Vice President for Development.
