    Eric Swanson Defends PhD Thesis

    Eric Swanson succesfully defended his PhD thesis on Thursday, December 18, 2014. Eric's thesis was titled "Higher-Order Unfolding of Peri/Centric Satellite Heterochromatin is an Early and Consistent Event in Cell Senescence."  Dr. Swanson's mentor was Jeanne Lawrence, PhD. The dissertation exam committee included Hong Zhang, PhD, Oliver Rando MD,PhD, Paul Kaufman, PhD, Jeffrey Nickerson, PhD, and John M. Sedivy, PhD.

    Artem Kutikov Defends PhD Thesis

    Artem Boris Kutikov successfully defended his PhD Thesis on Monday, November 24, 2014. Artem's thesis was titled "Amphiphilic Degradable Polymer/Hydroxyapatite Composites As Smart Bone Tissue Engineering Scaffolds."

    Paul Odgren Image Selected as FASEB BioArt Winner

    An image taken by Paul Odgren has been selected as one of ten winning images in the the BioArt 2014 competition hosted by FASEB, Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology.

    Summer Undergraduate Research Program

    Six students participating in the Summer Undergradute Research Opportunity Program, worked in labs in the Cell and Developmental Biology Deparment this summer. Hosting students this year were the Imbalzano, Lawrence, Nickerson, Rivera and Zhang Labs. A poster session was held on July 31, 2014 where the students presented their research projects completed in the labs.

    Cell Biology student Reddy Ranjith Kumas Sama successfully defended his PhD Thesis on March 28, 2014. Reddy's theis title was FUS/TLS in Stress Response: Implications for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.
