As the Medical Director of the Operating Room and a member of the Cardiac Anesthesia Team at UMass, I can say that this past year has been the most challenging and rewarding year for me.

We have just moved into an amazing, brand new, state of the art operating room in the Lakeside Wing of the University Campus. I have had the opportunity to be involved with the design and equipment selection and the final transition into our new home! It has been an unbelievable experience to be a part of this mission, not only to provide a remarkable facility for patients care, but an outstanding environment for resident and medical student education with top notch technology to support that endeavor.

UMass has given me the opportunity to balance my love for teaching and cardiac anesthesia with my interest in operating room management. Along with this I have been truly blessed to work in a department that has a great group of people from very diverse backgrounds and interests. It has made UMass a home away from home! I am originally from India and came to the United States in 1984.

My time and energy outside of work is devoted to my family. We have two young daughters. Travel, cooking, and reading are my favorite hobbies.
