Since its inception in 2007 the Massachusetts Stem Cell Bank has endeavored to bank and distribute the highest quality pluripotent stem cells to the research community worldwide. Unfortunately, due to a discontinuation of funding support, as of December 31, 2012 the Bank has ceased operations.
All cell banks and accompanying information have been transferred to the original depositing laboratories and all current requests will be fulfilled through those institutions. All future requests for cell lines should be directed to the contacts listed below.
The International Stem Cell Registry database is continuing operations and will remain a valuable resource for information about embryonic stem cell and disease specific iPS cell lines worldwide.
Stem cell research is a rapidly evolving field and it is our hope that resources like the Massachusetts Stem Cell Bank & International Stem Cell Registry will find future support as they are valuable assets for the stem cell research community. We would like to offer our thanks to all the individuals and institutions that have supported this banking endeavor.
