Educational Material Development
Educational Materials for Clinicians
To support the education and training needs of clinicians, the Office of Community Programs (OCP) works collaboratively with both state and national organizations to develop customized educational materials that are informative, innovative, and sensitive to clinicians’ needs and time constraints.
OCP’s approach includes recruitment of health experts to define material content and working with clients to assure that materials are concise, well-written and meet their educational goals.

Educational Materials for Patients
The complexity of health care is increasing, hospital stays are becoming shorter, outpatient services are burgeoning, and the cultural and linguistic diversity of our population is growing. To assist patients to better manage their health amidst these changes, the availability of high quality, culturally relevant, patient health education materials is essential.
OCP has experience working with local and state organizations to develop patient educational materials that are appropriate for the cultural background and health literacy of the target population. OCP also works closely with clinical staff to ensure that educational materials both reinforce and supplement the clinician’s patient teaching efforts.
