Congratulations to our friend and colleague Victor Ambros for sharing the 2008 Lasker Award for Basic Medical Research with Gary Ruvkun and David Baulcombe for their pioneering work on microRNAs. A major milestone in this work was the classic 1993 Cell paper from the Ambros laboratory co-authored by Rosalind Lee, also our friend and colleague in the Program in Molecular Medicine at the Medical School.
