Our PurposeOverseeing oncology-based clinical trials for the UMass Memorial Cancer Center, the Clinical Research Office’s mission is to provide support to clinicians and their patients for the clinical research being conducted in the Cancer Center.
As part of the UMass Memorial Cancer Center, the Clinical Research Office provides management services for oncology-based clinical trials for the Medical School and UMass Memorial Health Care. For all clinical studies, this oversight includes:
- Regulatory and Document Management; and,
- Data collection and Coordination with sponsoring agencies

INFORMATION ON CLINICAL TRIALS
There are currently thousands of clinical trials being conducted in the United States, and though they are crucial to improving cancer treatment and a vital component of cancer care, the National Cancer Institute reports that fewer than 5% of adults with cancer participate in these studies.
