Health care transformation is a team effort. Join us for a new one day mini course for Administrators and Physician leaders, given in concert with the Center's acclaimed Primary Care Behavioral Health (PCBH) Certificate Course.
Integrated Primary Care (IPC) is best thought of as an expansion and enriching of Primary Care rather than as a changing of venue for mental health or substance abuse services. In order to deliver better outcomes to more patients while controlling costs, primary care will look and operate much differently in the future. The integration of behavioral health services is mandated by the NCQA 2014 standards for the Patient Centered Medical Home, promoted by forward-looking health plans, and encouraged by HRSA, SAMHSA and numerous state health and mental health authorities.
Dr.Alexander Blount and the CIPC faculty are inaugurating a new mini-course for important members of that team: Primary Care Practice Administrators and Physician Leaders.
The entire first day of the PCBH will be devoted to topics of interest and concern to administrators and those hoping to launch integrated practices. We hope Behavioral Health clinicians associated with a practice will take the full course, and that the administrators and physicians on the team will take this mini-course to learn the details behind Integrated Primary Care culture, and how to leverage integration into achieving a full-fledged Patient-Centered Medical Home.
